I went for the AB9 Pro using an e6600. This config works well if you use 800MHz RAM because you can tell the motherboard that it is in fact 533MHz and then raise the FSB to 400. This lets the e6600 get to 3.6GHz and then pushes your RAM back upto 800MHz. This keeps the ratio at 1:1 and does...

Thanks guys, It looks like the consensus is to go for the HD, but I also like the idea of the 74GB raptor and cheaper soundcard. I already have plenty of disk space for my music and other misc, so can save the fast hd for the operating system and games. (I will however give Raid 0 a go first...

Good point well made :) . I would however be looking at overclocking (if not straight away) my PC. I see this as a cheaper way of upgrading my system a year down the line.

Thats good to hear... £174 for one Gig or £318 for two It seems quite expensive compared to the rest, but its the only CL 3 DDR2 RAM that I have seen on the market.
