So I've been getting lag spikes with my GTx 660ti gpu, In Minecraft with settings low and chunks high I've been able to get a solid fps and even when I change to 2 chunks I still get these horrible lag spikes. It isn't only minecraft it exists on other games too.

CPU 4.2Ghz but flucturates between 3.8ghz and 4.2ghz, How can I stop this from happening. I have a AMD A10 6800K and it says I have 2 cores and 4 logical processors is this normal. I'm running windows 8.1

When playing Minecraft when I move around my fps goes down from 200 to 50 sometimes, it's really noticeable and I don't want to install optifine. Is there any way I can perhaps overclock... add more ram to Minecraft etc?
