I upgraded to ssd last year, and I'm running 8gb of ddr3 1600, which is their recommendation.

Not sure. This has an i3-3100, factory dell MB. I've upgrade RAM, and freed up most of the hard drive, but it still seems to drag.

What I'm looking for is a specific model, that doesn't require power directly from the psu. Second hand was going to be a given, especially for this old of a machines.
