2-256mb vs 1-512mb?

    i agree... ditto.. anyways...if you're planning on using anything higher than pc2700/pc3000....then get a single stick...otherwise 2 sticks are fine... L A e T a I K

    845PE vs 648

the intel chipset will cost considerably more the the sis648 chip (about 50% give or take)...if you're wanting to go sis648...id recommend the gigabyte 8SG667...its a god when compared to the P4S8X...except for the fact that the board doesnt come with voltage mods (adjustable vcore) so...

    New Custom PC Help

well...you should remove that black pad if you can...its better for the thermal performance...and replace it with some thermal paste like arctic silver 3 or something....but not removing it wont kill your cpu either...so its pretty much up to you....but if you absolutley want to play...

    New Custom PC Help

it could be a memory problem...try your mushkin ram on another system to see if it works...or grab another stick of ddr memory and try it on your system... thats all i can think of right now other then taking your system apart and rebuilding everything... L A</font...

    AMD 2600 or P4 2.53

im not sure if the 2600+ will debut close to $500... the 2400+ is already around $200...i dont think the 2600+ will be twice the cost... anyways...i still think that the AXP are still a better bang for the buck (you can get a 1800+ for less than $100...can you find a P4 1.8a for about that...

    Best chipset for P4

take a look at the gigabyte board (8SG667)...its supposed to be much much better when compared to the P4S8X.... dont count on it...ever since SIS stop supporting the official use of ddr400 memory (or development at least)...the 648DX went out the windows as well... anyways...i would recommend...

    Intel 845PE Chipset

the only new thing about the 845PE is that it now supports ddr333 memory and it has hyperthreading support for future P4's... http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=1723 a lil review... L <font...

    Asus KT333 or KT400?

the chipset is almost neglible...just get the motherboard that has the features you want...ie. firewire, raid, blah blah blah... the only reason for you to get the KT400 is to use AGP 8x...which gives a neglible amount of increase in performance anyways... L A</font...

    AMD 2600 or P4 2.53

the 2600+ IMO, is the best bang for the buck...but...it only exists on paper (for the time being)... id say...go with the P4 2.53 and overclock the kimchee out of it... L A e T a I...

    Perfect Motherboard for a P4 2.53GhZ?

    asus board with ddr400

like i said...it does unofficially...which means that it can run ram at ddr400 speeds without overclocking. however, it is not supported by asus so use at your own risk... L A e T a I...
