I'm getting a P4 2.53B (533mhz) CPU and plan to use DDR333 mainly due to price. I plan to use DDR333 with CL2.5 as DDR400 & DDR333 CL2 modules are just too expensive at the moment. I figure that i can speed up the memory to CL2 anyway.

I have singled out the above two chipsets as the two best for me at the moment, but i'm not sure which is better. They are both about the same price and i don't really need the DDR400 or AGP 8x on the Sis board as i only have a Geforce4 4600 which only uses AGP 4x.

The two boards i'm looking at are:-

Asus P4S8X and the GigaByte GA-8PE667 ULTRA.

Can someone help me with my choice?

the intel chipset will cost considerably more the the sis648 chip (about 50% give or take)...if you're wanting to go sis648...id recommend the gigabyte 8SG667...its a god when compared to the P4S8X...except for the fact that the board doesnt come with voltage mods (adjustable vcore) so overclocking wont be too fun...
anyways...both chipsets are great...its up to you to decided which one is right for you...

Aopen carries a 648 board as well, any information on this board?

my GA-8PE667 is due tomorrow. but fyi anandtech.com did a review of 3 845pe boards, the asus, albatron and the giga-byte. overall the gigabyte did real well, including overclocking.
