I bought a gtx 460 and it is not detected by my motherboard but the fans are spinning, I then purchased a radeon 6850, thinking the first graphics card was broken but I get the same problem. How do I fix this?

I just purchased a 6850 and that isnt detected either should I buy a new motherboard.
