    Question Stuck at "Entering Setup"

Lafong: Yes, everything but the second set of RAM, the video card, and some of the storage are from April 2015. Lutfij: On the RAM -- I did not think of that. I will remember it for the future. Here are the links: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CQphP6/corsair-memory-cmy16gx3m2a1600c9...

    Question Stuck at "Entering Setup"

I want to preface this by saying I read the sticky post. I will go through each step if you feel it is necessary, but some seem unnecessary because I built this computer in spring 2015, and everything was working just fine until late April of this year. Specs: CPU: i7-4790k Motherboard: MSI...

    Opinions on this pre-built?

I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to upgrade the PSU in the future, but I'd do it sooner rather than later. It sends power to all your parts, so if there's a power surge, who knows what will happen? There are some that have caused fire (one noted in the article in my signature about...

    best psu for my pc

The Corsair VS 550 is in the Tier 3 of the PSU tier list (see signature), which generally isn't recommended out of risk. Ideally, you don't want to go lower than Tier 2. I couldn't find any specific reviews from reputable electricians (JonnyGUGU, hardwaresecrets.com). It would help to know...

    $1000-1500 Pc Build

Neither XFX nor Corsair make their own power supplies. However, Corsair rebrands all kinds of different units, while XFX uses Seasonic universally: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page625.htm Seasonic is a great maker of power supplies. I, too, would prefer an actual review, but...

Looking for feedback on my PC

Austin - Bad news. Your link isn't the right one. When I clicked on it, it took me to my build, not yours. When you're in your saved part list, look for the link that has a lot of weird letters at the end. That's the right one. It's over to the left and called "Permalink." Hope that helps!

    Help with PSU

I edited my response, but other responses came in, so you might not see it: I couldn't find any information on the Coolermaster G750M. It *might* be the GX, in which case, there's this hardware secrets review...

    Help with PSU

Coolermaster VSM 750W Not bad. The JonnyGURU review is here: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=383 Performance could be better, but the build quality is excellent. If it's still around $105.00, though, I'd probably go with the EVGA G2, as that one is fully...

    NOOB PC Build?

Lots of generally "good" brands make bad power supplies. For example: Corsair. Some of their units are great. Others are not. Corsair, in general, is a good brand, but some of their power supplies are bad. In my signature is a link to the Tom's Hardware tier list** of power supplies. You...

System Combination with - without SLI

I'm planning on potentially doing SLI of GTX 970, and this is the PSU I chose: EVGA G2 750W, which in the US is about the same price as the RM650: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cp9020054ww: base price 119.99, promotion = 99.99...

hoping to order tonight lemme know if something is wrong?

Okay. I don't want to argue, either, other than that I'm not misleading the OP (if that was to me and not ILiftFood). I'm giving information and pointing out potential risks. I'm irritated with the way ILiftFood used my post, as it implied I agreed that the PSU is so bad it should be avoided...

budget of $800 is this good

Here's an explanation. It goes into more detail, but the basic information is there: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Understanding-RAM-Timings/26/2

hoping to order tonight lemme know if something is wrong?

That's a good point, and there's no real way to figure out longevity. I think the biggest indication would be the warranty. For this one? Three years. Compared with the EVGA G2 750W, which has a 10-year warranty (that's the one I recently ordered). That seems to suggest that EVGA isn't all...

My Final parts Pick to Build My Gaming PC

Good review, but you probably don't need 1500W! 750W will be fine for SLI of the GTX 970 (I know because that's what I'm doing). I'm not sure what a single 980 would need, but I suspect it would actually be less, since it's a single card. And if you have too much, you run into efficiency...

hoping to order tonight lemme know if something is wrong?

Each person has to decide what "skimping" is. Personally, I find the tier list useful, but I don't really even use it myself. I go straight to JonnyGURU and read the reviews there, and I ditch anything that doesn't get a 9.0 or higher. But I'm freaky about the power supply. As a result, I...
