It turns out that (after fiddling with the cable for a while) that it works if it is in at the right angle. But tomorrow I'll get a network card and a new cable to prevent further problems. Thanks

My PC has decided to stop recognising my Ethernet cable. I've used it for almost a year now. When I plug the cable into my laptop it works. I've tried resetting my computer, the router. And reinstalling drivers. All it says is that there is no Ethernet cable connected to you're computer.
