I helped my friend install his geforce gtx 750 from PNY and it does not have a PCI-E power slot. But, the power supply he has is a Corsair CX 750M. Is it possible to run this card without needing any sort of PCI-E connection as the power supply will give it enough power on the 12v rail?

He saw a Geforce GT 760 at Best buys and wonders if he can play the games (as aforementioned) that he has on at least high settings and native resolution

My friend is on a budget. He wants to be able to play Rust, Rising Storm, 7 days to die on high settings on a 1680x1050 monitor. Is it possible or should he invest in something a bit above his budget? Any answer that can be shined on this curious question :D
