Multimedia Laptop with good battery life

MSI has some nice laptops too. On my laptop (MSI GE600-002US) I can switch between my 5730 and my i5 gpu to save power which is nice. As far as battery life, it really depends on windows settings though some manufacturers include a drivers +/ buttons to switch between performance and battery mode.

Portal 2 Dated, New Gameplay Demonstration

Portal reminds me of a modern remake of an old puzzle game called Chip's Challenge. But kick ass. God that was a fun game. Can't wait for Portal 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip%27s_Challenge

    Best laptop manufacturer 2010

What is did when I first looked for a laptop is that I started by narrowing down the specs I wanted. CPU,RAM GPU, ports, ect. Give or take depending on the price and features. After a narrowed down a few laptops I'd go to the manufactures website and download the manuals so that I had a good...

Should I upgrade from my XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 320Mb to HD 5770 1GB?

5770 It would be a good upgrade. I had similar specs E6600 @ 3GHZ 8800GTS 320 before I upgraded to a OC 285GTX which gave me 4x the performance. The vram was also the bottleneck I ran into when I wanted to do higher res gaming.

    Gta sa white writing problem

It looks like your graphics card maybe over heating. What kind of graphics card do you have? Download GPUZ to find out. Does it do it with any other game you have? Also make sure your drivers are up to date ect.

ESata OR USB3.0 in USB2.0 port??

esata is fine for now. You wouldn't notice a difference between the two because the hard drive would be the bottleneck. Current mechanical hard drives can't saturate 3gb/s.

Nvidia Support for AGEIA PhysX Processors is Dead

If i'm not correct didn't AMD say PhysX would die back in December of 2008; two years after AMD acquired ATI. In my opinion there was nothing wrong with PhysX processor other than the lack of drivers. As far as games, Nvidia should have worked with the people of Havoc to where the Havoc engine...

Intel Shows Light Peak Laptop Pushing 2 HD Videos

My guess is that the current USB3.0 will be modified for the addition of the optic cable. Lightpeak will provide the same power as USB3.0. Lightpeak is NOT the same stand alone optical cable you see on your audio equipment.

Gigabyte's USB 3.0 Contest is Open to the World

More then likely seeing as they were using a usb interface. They will probably have two types of cables. One for just data and the other with power integrated into the wire drawing its power from the usb interface. So basically you have three or more wires. one optical for data and two or more...

Gigabyte's USB 3.0 Contest is Open to the World

Its a contest. Winning free stuff is always good. However USB 3.0 is obsolete. Lightpeak will inevitably replace it along with other i/o's connectors via optitcal cable. Also it starts at 10gbps and can scale up to 100gbps unlike USB 3. From what I've read they are already shipping the chips...

    Raid 0+1: 0: Performance & Capacity. 1: Reliability. How easy/diff?

raid 0+1 requires 4 drives. raid 0 and 1 need only 2. 3 if you include a backup. Now in theory you can do a hardware raid 0 and then do a software mirror of that raid 0 to a equal size drive. The problem with this configuration is you have two weaknesses. One is if you experience disk corruption...

Core 2 quad or new i7 build

I say do this: Start with your monitor and graphics card. I did this. I had a old CRT 19in and went with a nice new 24in lcd. However my old graphics card (8800GTS 320mb) couldn't handle the high resolution I wanted so I ended up getting a 285GTX OC (pre 5xxx)to meet my demand. A 5870 should be...
