Could be an issue related to the GPU, a year ago I had a monitor that would only display static or just would not wake up. Connecting a different monitor solved the issue, or just connecting the culprit monitor to the integrated graphics also solved it. Also have you tried different cables??

actually i did just buy a 750w psu, not that one though, im on a budget. I picked up one made by thermaltake that had really good reviews and so far it works great but theres still a part of me thats still scared to plug in the gpu.
