[SOLVED] How to find if my computer supports additional 8GB ram?

I have a Lenovo Product ID 00325-81774-31939-AAQEM running Win10 (Home :( ) with 8GB. I would like to install an additional 8GB. I haven't done that in a long time. Would any 8GB ram set be OK? When I install it, I think I have to unplug the computer and let it it for a while. And of course go...

    [SOLVED] Fix PageFile.Sys (or Chrome)

I'm pretty sure Chrome is clogging up my pagefile.sys. My version is: Version 80.0.3987.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) If I leave Chrome running overnight or let it run too long (whatever that means), my C: drive is at 100%. If I exit Chrome, it's usually OK. I assume this is due to Chrome...

[SOLVED] Which app is using up my pagefile.sys?

My pagefile.sys is about 16gB, twice the size of my system's memory. Sometimes I notice (via taskmgr) that the pagefile.sys is at 100%. I assume, when taskmgr says the C: is at 100% this refers to the pagefile.sys. If so, is there a way to determine which app(s) are using 100%? The biggest...

How to repair a bad sector and bring external HD back on line

Luckily I have a backup device which was fairly up to date. I managed to copy over my recent files (Visual Studio projects) and some other stuff. I'm getting new HD shortly. I sort of "fixed the HD" with chkdsk /rfx (or chkdsk /r /f /x). Now there are no HD-related errors in the Event logs. I...

How to repair a bad sector and bring external HD back on line

My external USB hard drive is off line. Here's the message I see in the Event Viewer: A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume F:. A bad cluster was discovered while accessing file data. The file reference number is 0x2000000000002. The name of the file is "<unable...

USB was 128GB and now it is 28GB

It was a case of mistaken usb drives. I did not know that someone who is staying with me also had a 128GB pny usb drive. And that drive also had some of my files on it, so when I saw the drive and my files I assumed this was my disk and that he had added a partition for a boot loader (which he...

USB was 128GB and now it is 28GB

Diskpart shows a 200MB EFI partition, 28.55GB primary paritiion, and 128MB is unallocated. The data lives on another USB drive (2TB). It's just me (I think) using this. As soon as I've backed up my data, I remove the USB drive and store it in a drawer. That's it. But now the 128GB is replaced...

USB was 128GB and now it is 28GB

I have 128GB usb drive for data backup. The drive is bitlockered. I have (or had) a 128GB USB drive which was bitlockered. When not in use, the drive is stored in a drawer. it is only taken out of the drawer when I want to back up my data. I took the drive out today and put it in my computer...
