FX 4300 is just good for you for such upgrade - I have it and I can swore on it. But - consider waiting for a while, increasing the budget and either wait for Zen, or (i know, its heresy, but... ) think about the intel. Yes, you would need deeper upgrade, but you would get more power for a buck.

I am going to regret this :) But I have to ask - can you specify "experiencing CPU bottleneck"? Because I do have only FX 4300 as the heart of my gaming rig (16GB RAM, R 380 2GB - dont ask about the CPU ok? :) and yes I will 'upgrade' to FX 8370 later on, presumably when Zen will tear its price...

It is a tricky question. Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 will run perfectly smoothly on FX 4300 ! People here will torn me apart, but it is currently absolutely enough CPU for gaming, as long as the rest of the rig can handle it. I have it since this January, and I had no problem with it in any game...
