83c idle for the 4870x2 doesn't sound that bad, my 4870 runs at 71c idle. I would recommend Rivatuner 2.11 for fanspeed and temp monitor. I change the fanspeed to 35% and it now idles at about 44c.

For starters get a Q9550 saves you $220. Do you really need a 300gb velociRaptor? And that powersupply is overkill unless you plan on crossfiring sometime down the road. Also, do you really need vista ultimate?

I downloaded 0.27 but when I try to run it, I get the Kernel driver error. Which i've read can be fixed by disabling checking for signed drivers. But I don't know how to do that, and i'm not sure if its a good idea to do that. Do you know how and if its safe? Thanks for your help!

OK i'll try 0.27, and I don't know if there's a special XP64 version....I'm running it on Vista 64.
