Funny, I was just looking into this last night. For the past 18 months or so I've been continually updating my driver everytime there was a new one available (beta's and officials)...I must have installed 30+ different drivers in that time. My best benchmark scores came from the 53.03 series...

It's not really a difficult job, just go to your local computer outlet and they should be able to help you select the proper heatsink and fan for your card. Follow the instructions and replace it.

Most of the benchies I have seen have shown the single 6800U to beat out the SLI'd 6600's... I think the nice thing about it is that if you get the 6800U now, you have the option of adding another one at some point down the road...giving you a nice performance boost. If you go with 2 6600's...

Just make sure you get the 8X AGP Ti4200, eventhough your board may only be 4X you'll gain the benefit of the higher memory clock speed. Mine overclocks nicely to 300 core and 600 memory...

At least you knew what you were doing, that just makes you evil. I've overheard some stuff at places like that (staples, office depot etc.) and I'm convinced that the sales person really believed what he was saying, which makes him evil AND stupid.

I'm running a Ti4200, and my best benchmark score was obtained using the 53.03 drivers. Obviously, benchmarks are not all you need. I just keep updating and trying new things. I can't even remember exactly what set I have running right now, I think 70.24...seems to work well.

Also, I don't think the link is there, so there's no way to connect the two cards. (can't remember what they are calling it, but it's the little card/cable that connects the two cards together).

I agree with Shadus, the SLI Bridge has to come from the mobo maker, because only they know exactly how far apart the PCI express slots are...

Just my opinion, but I would probably buy a top of the line 6800 (GT or Ultra) that is SLI capable, and then wait 8-12 months and get another one, hopefully cheaper than they are now. You're going to get some kick a$$ performance out of the single one for now, and then upgrade when games get a...
