If its only while gaming I would suspects something is overheating, I recommend to use something like MSI afterburner to keep an aye on CPU & GPU temp while gaming.

I would remove and reinstall the cooler and check if its well installed, if you have another cooler I would try it out to see if the problem comes from the cooler itself or the processor, another possibility is making sure you have enough air flow in your case.

The R9 270 is a decent card for 1080p gaming, upgrading the CPU will definitely increase performance I suggest you get something like FX-6300 or if you can get something like I5 4460, even an I3 will be boost your FPS.

Well let me see if I got this right, if you take off the GPU and run the PC using the integrated card all works properly but once you put the GPU on the motherboard it runs but shows nothing on screen and power button becomes orange also the display cable from the monitor is plugged into the GPU...

Does the GPU fan spin ? and can you tell us how many beeps you hear that can help identify the problem, those beeps are codes for certain issues!
