i dont know anything about the monitor and stuff, but if you buy a high refresh rate monitor you should (if possible) use displayport. hdmi is fine for refresh rates under 60Hz. if you are on 1080p you should also use hdmi or dvi. anything higher than 1080p i would recommend displayport. buy...

i had the same problem, check the watch battery on the mobo and just pull it out. (round silver colored thinghy) check if it turns on. if it doesnt, check if everyone of the very small plugs is plugged in the right way on the MOBO. especially the power button XD.
