Especially when I click on C: to look inside I see just 7 files, stuff like program files, and the Windows file is the largest at 21GB, all the files together equal 25 GB instead of the 80GB that brings the hard drive from 465GB to 385GB

Yeah that's why I was like "OK" with the 9.09GB stuff but what happened after that just seems all wrong. So I guess I better return to zero on this and see where I made my mistake. I think I just needed to be talked down from the ledge here lol
