Question Looking for a 4k super wide monitor

I'm looking to upgrade to one of those mega super wide monitors, I currently have an ultrawide but I need more screen space! I mostly use it for video editing and design, so I don't really need a super high refresh rate gaming monitor, just a crisp and clear screen with room for lots of windows...

Question Looking for a good 4k gaming video card on a budget

I haven't built a PC in many years, but I'd like to put something together for a TV gaming system. I'd like to be able to get a consistent 60 fps in 4k HDR (my TV is capable of 120 hz, but I'm fine with 60). My old PC has an Nvidia 1070, and I don't think that will really be good enough, and I'm...

Question How to get a high end graphics card right now?

I had plans to build a cheap gaming PC for TV gaming, but the prices on even the old cards are just outrageous. I've been out of the loop for a while. What's going on? Is it bots scoping them all up like the playstations? Or shortages due to Covid or something? Why can't they let you just order...

[SOLVED] Wired connection to wireless satellite?

Just curious .. I have a Netgear Orbi system in my house, and the satellite hotspot thingies all have an ethernet port on them. I'm 2 floors away from the base station connected to our cable modem, but the wifi works great. I'm just wondering, if I were to connect my PC to the satellite with an...

News EA Reveals Anthem 'Live Service' Roadmap

I'm not a big fan of EA thanks to their shenanigans, but I picked up Anthem on Friday. Enjoying it immensely! The game is beautiful, the story is good and the missions are fun. Looking forward to see what else they plan to add

Discussion Community Questions: What's Your All-Time Favorite GPU?

For me it my fondest memory anyway was when I got the voodoo graphics expansion card, back in like '96 ... seeing my games suddenly come alive with colored lighting just blew me away. And then upgrading it later on to whatever card was the first one to offer Anti Aliasing.. then getting like 5...

New MB & CPU = New Windows Install?

Finished my build last night.. and surprisingly everything worked perfectly the first time. I always feel like I'm gonna forget to connect something. I ended up doing a fresh install on my new 2 TB m.2 and I'm going to just sell my old 512mb one. I prefer 1 big drive over having a separate OS...

New MB & CPU = New Windows Install?

Another question.. so let's say next year they come out with 10th gen processors and it's compatible with my same motherboard.. would I be able to upgrade the cpu from my i5 9600k to the i9 10900k or whatever they call it, and just swap it out, and windows will still work fine and not need to...

New MB & CPU = New Windows Install?

Thanks, I’ll just to a fresh install to be safe. For my games, will I need to reinstall them (mostly World of Warcraft and some other random Steam games), or can I back up the game files so I don’t have to redownload the whole game all over again? I also have all of the adobe creative suite...

New MB & CPU = New Windows Install?

I'm going to be upgrading my PC from a i5-6500 & ASRock Z170 Gaming ITX, to an i5-9600K & Asus Strix Z390 itx. All other components will be the same. Can I just plop that in my case and connect everything, and windows will still work just fine? Or will I need to wipe my OS hard drive and...

Selling PCs and parts on ebay?

I got rid of the stock fan a while back, it started buzzing loudly.. replaced it with the thin lower profile noctua fan so i think it's about the same height. Probably better to leave it attached.

Selling PCs and parts on ebay?

I don't even have the original motherboard box or instructions .. no socket cover or anything else that came with it. My new board is the asus strix 390 itx board.. maybe the socket cover from that will fit? But yeah I guess it's probably better to keep it all connected so no pins can get messed...

Selling PCs and parts on ebay?

Going to be upgrading my PC and I’m going to have my old CPU & motherboard left over so I’d like to sell it on eBay. Never really shipped that before. Is it better to remove the CPU and heat sink and sell everything separately? Or keep it and sell it as a MB/CPU combo. like, can I ship the...

    Asus Strix Z390-I and M.2

Hmm, yeah I guess the piece of mind is worth $20 :) Another question.. 1 M.2 port is on the back of the board and the other is on the front.. is either slot better? The top one has a heat sink built in, would the bottom one be prone to overheat? I'm probably not going to be doing much...

    Asus Strix Z390-I and M.2

Sorry, i missed that in the specs. I backup to an external hard drive fairly often (usually once a week). I've never done a raid before, is it prone to failure often? Would I be better off just spending the extra cash for one 2TB drive?
