since you're using this laptop just for browsing, getting another 2 gb and turn it into 4gb dual channel will just be enough. no need to choke yourself with 8 gigs

considering you're taking it into the win10 conversation, let's just guess the machine is running win10. your problem is that these applications don't run well, it crashes a lot, it's a RAM problem. next up you go for an SSD

I'm currently on 39gb free space on my c drive. My previous experiences with HDDs is that they tend to slow down after losing 50% of it's total storage. I wonder if it would happen to SSDs as Well?
