A i5 or a ryzen 5,7 with a 1070 will be good for 1080p gaming and will last many years. by putting and spending so much on a 1080ti for just 1 monitor even if it was 1440p is not worth it. But if you have money to spend you could do a compleat rebuild and build a really high end system.
