For anyone in the future intertested in the solution : Flashed the Bios to version 7C02v17 (the last one before the 3000 series support), reset all the settings, and voila. My Gears framerates are in the 3 digit region, Borderlands framerates doubled, and everything is juuuuust fine.

Yeah i double checked. The funny thing is that the gigabyte g1 gtx 970, what was in it, is longer than the 2080 going in it's place.

Well yeah, but i dont need: a case, hdd, ssd, case fans. So this man might just gave me hope that i might own a 2080. Without those on amazon.de i'm at about 1.1k euros. I'm really considering it.
