yeahh one of them has a red light on to say that it is being powered. But there is no removable drive in the pc area.

Now i do feel thick. Yeah I've just tried my mouse in all the ports it works fine. It just seems to be USB drives

Im on a desktop and the usb drive is directly into the motherboard although it doesnt work plugged into the front panel either. Im not sure what you mean by out the of ordinary. It all looks ok, I've checked if they are all working properly which it says they are.

ok well when i click the arrow it drops down a communications port and a printer port both of which are working fine. Or so the device status says so. Its a new pc I've built and I've already had one of the usb sticks working in the machine.

Where can i find the sub ports the only menu i see is the ports

HI As the title suggests, I can't get my pc to read any USB drives. I've tried two so far that defiantly work on other systems and just nothing. My mouse and keyboard work fine so what could be the problem? Anyone got any suggestions?

Ha a good comparison. Yeah I guess i can put games and stuff on the outer edge and use the inner sections for the less important crap. Thanks alot for the replys. Very helpful

yeah I was more fussed about the program files. i guess when I install a new game or something I will direct it to my E: drive. Whats the benefit of having different partitions instead of the one?

ok. What do you mean install the drive as in plug the SATA cables in? ill go look in disk management now to see if it sees it.
