The GTX970 is good, also if you're searching for a new PSU, looking at the specs i think you should go with a 650 or a 750 watt PSU. EVGA/Seasonic/Antec make good PSUs for not a lot of money.

Which CPU do you have?

Are you using a nVidia GPU? If yes, you should do a fresh install of the GPU's drivers.

You should get at least a 500W PSU for that GPU.

If you have the budget, go for GTX980. It's a great GPU. If you don't want to spend too much, go for GTX970. It's a great GPU too.

Any RAM should be fine, the CPU (or is it APU? I'm not into AMD..) is compatible with DDR3 up to 2133MHz, as long as your motherboard supports it.
