Hi all,

Do a search on the www.ebuyer.co.uk website for: GTX 1050 and you will notice something strange.
It is advertised at over £500, for a 1050!

At first I thought it was a pricing error so I informed them of it yesterday by phone, kind of (hey, someone in your pricing department got it wrong).

However a search by category will reveal 1050/1050Ti GPUs in a more reasonable price bracket.

The issue lies in the fact that they are claiming (for some 1050s) a discount of over £140 (SAVE £140) of a total price of almost £300...FOR A 1050!!!

No time to contact Trading Standards UK for this, but the average consumer may think they are getting a really good deal if it's half price from almost £300.
Any goods must be advertised for a minimum of 20-28 days before they can be considered (discounted), it may be less days than that, but the 1050 was only released very recently.

Check it out!

Solution
I highly doubt they are attempting to scam people, I suspect its just been a mistake when inputting the price for the product.

Ebuyer are usually pretty good and competitive with their prices.
Yeah they are ripping people off there. Scan.co.uk are selling them from £130-£170. Such a big saving thanks ebuyer :) Its most likely an error on their part for some of the 1050's, i doubt anyone would actually get charged the full £500 if they bought one.

I know, right? :)

Usually Ebuyer have sliiightly better prices than Scan, I've noticed, so clearly an issue with pricing.

But the whole (reduced from whatever price) is, unnerving, to say the least.

Once reported to the relevant authorities, I will feel better about staring at that screen.

Sux for them though...they will lose on sales big time cuz anyone who is gonna buy a GPU knows how to use the very complex and in-depth search engines, google/bing/yahoo, haha!
