I just upgraded some of the components in my old rig to AMD X2 (2.3Ghz), 2GB (OCZ), ASROCK Dual Sata II (hopefully I got the AGP driver installed correctly) with my existing 9800Pro AGP (128MB) and I've gotten 0 fps for most of the tests in 3DMarks06!
I left all the settings as default. 3DMark06 score was 437 with CPU score of 1679.
I didn't expect the sytem to blaze through the tests but 0 fps??? Something's gotta be wrong here...

I Got a 7800GT 256MB PCI-Express on a X2 3800+ OC @ 2.6Ghz, and in Most Tests I get Around 10 - 18 Fps.. so the 9800 Must be dying on ya

I forget the precise numbers, but I got a huge jump in 3DMark06 going from a 9500 Pro to 7800GS: something like 5-10x higher score. So I'm not surprised that a 9800 Pro scores that low.

3DMark05 was the last 3DMark where the 9500 Pro got even a half-decent score: 06 was a slideshow.

I benchmarked an HP nx9420 with a 2GHz Core Duo, 1GB RAM, 80GB 5400 rpm (I think), and a 256MB ATI x1600 Mobility at work. Got around 5500 in 05 and a 1600 in 06. Not bad for a laptop. Better than my personal laptop (3.0GHz P4, 1GB RAM, 128MB 9600 Pro, 60GB 7200 rpm).

Dual Core oced 10%?!?

I'm curious... just what sort of processor are you running? Embarassed to admit who made it?

I am waiting to get the Zalman to arrive tomorrow before I get serious. As stated in my original post, it's AMD Athlon X2 3800+.

You probably can, but it won't look very good. The 9500 Pro, for example, could play COD2, but only in DX7 mode... the 7800GS gets comparable performance in DX9 mode with 4xAA.
