System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit.

I'm currently trying to install this custom theme.

I can get the basic UI working by moving the theme files to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, but when it comes to replacing the Explorerframe.dll files, it borks my computer.

I take ownership of the Explorerframe.dll files in the System32 & SysWOW64 folders, rename them to explorerframe.dll.bak. Then I copy over the corresponding explorerframe.dll files for the theme, restart my computer, aaaaand...

The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b).

I can't access my desktop after this and have to use my Startup CD and load a System Restore point to get everything back up and running.

Could someone please help with this? I've tried several sites and no one wants to touch this one.

Never install "free" stuff from the internet. I hope you learned your lessons.
80% of all "free" stuff is malware.

Now, stop loading that garbage into your system.

Use a professional antivirus to scan the entire computer.
Delete all "free" security programs. Now, get real.
