Hi guys I've got about the equivalent of about $1 000 here in South Africa and am looking to do a new build from scratch. This is what I have in mind.

CPU - AMD FX - 8320
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Mobo - ASUS M5A99X EVO R 2.0
GPU - ASUS Radeon HD 7950
RAM - Intel Patriot Extreme Masters Edition 8GB 1866MHz
Storage - 1TB Seagate Barracuda
Case - GMC Scorpion
PSU - Antec NeoECO C 620C 620W ATX12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

This is the parts list on newegg. Unfortunately I can't find the case and ram on newegg but I can get them here at a local store.

Also keep in mind I need a monitor and keyboard too (I have a decent mouse from a friend), so this will take the price up closer to that $1 000 mark.

Any and all criticism or compliments would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

You could save some money with 1600MHz RAM, you won't notice the difference. Not sure how much that will save but you could put that money towards the CPU like an 8350 or just pocket it. Other than that your build looks solid.

Thanks for the rapid feedback!
I might as you suggest swap the RAM out for the 1600MHz ones. It'll save me about $10, which is not too much but it is a couple of beers over here.
