what is the best ram brand to use for my setup? i want it in one 256 meg stick. whats the diference between ecc and non-ecc? i was thinking kingston ram, (no way im going viking, they want 500$)

Read up on RAM! Several articles have good information.

Basically you want to pick a good vendor, but more importantly you want to have good memory modules.

Don't use a 256 meg chip. 256 meg chips are slower than 128 meg chips. I'd just use 2 128meg chips. www.crucial.com has good prices for very high quality ram. Get the CL2 ram. It is faster than CL3.

BTW, ECC is for servers. It is a waste for your machine.
