So, I understand Skylake only officially supports 1.35v DDR3L RAM (aside from DDR4). I'd like to buy a new MB and CPU, however, I would like to hold on to my 2x 8GB DDR3 1600 DIMMS. I'm asking the community if there has been any experience running 1.5v DDR3 with Skylake?

Looking at the ASRock Z170 Gaming K4/D3 and a 6700K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157652

I am upgrading from a 4.0Ghz i5-760 Lynnfield. Not even really sure if it's worth it to be honest. I'm a gamer, enthusiast and generally speaking I enjoy tweaking and have a FAST computer.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks. I'm looking for a bit more user experience. I know what all the articles say, but they also say the same thing about over volting CPUs and we do that all the time without problems. I have been running this Lynnfield CPU @ 1.35v @ 4.0 Ghz for about 5 years now with no problems.
