I can't wait!
I am building a system now in anticipation!

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black (overclocked to 3.6GHz)
4GB DDR3 1600MHz OCZ CL8 AMD Black RAM
ASROCK AM3 Motherboard
Now I just need to buy a new video card (waiting for the new nVidia line) and a solid state drive and I'll be all set.

I saw extensive gameplay footage of D3 about a year ago and totally forgot about it...and it still has a release date of 2011? WTH is taking so long?

That will be way old technology by the time this game comes out...6 core CPUs will be the norm and SSD's will be much cheaper by then. If the economy doesn't come back I will never get to build a new machine!!

I might be an old fogey, but yeah I'm still not convinced that real-time 3D rendering for games like adds that much to the experience. I want to say that I wish developers spent as much on story development as on fancy 3D graphics, but then...

As I've said before, D3 won't be released until 2014, which, coincidentally, will be the same year the Cleveland Browns win the Super Bowl.

I'm not even that interested anymore. I'm not saying that I'm not going to buy it, I'm just saying that 4 years is a really long time to be "pumped." It would get exhausting after the first few years. That, and I'm absorbed in ME2 right now, which is awesome.

Those screenshots look so last year. Did anyone else feel a little bit disappointed when they zoomed in and found everything was kind of blocky? Once D3 comes out the graphics will be severely outdated. This makes me sad.

I don't see how these long delays can make it worth the anticipation.
By the time it's released, it will be optimized for hardware 2-3 years old. How is that for progress? I want new releases to push modern hardware, not old crap. Hell, my old Athlon and 6800 combo with 1GB ram should run this with full settings.

Blizzard must think that the original Starcraft is still popular because people enjoy crappy, outdated graphics.

Eh, the game still looks too bright and colorful to be in the Diablo series. The dark, dreary landscape and melancholy soundtrack of the original two were a big part of the appeal.

[citation][nom]griz99[/nom]It will probably be delayed until either LATE 2011 or 2012. On top of that, they are most likely leaving out LAN support like Starcraft 2. This is the first Diablo title that I will NOT be buying.[/citation]
I agree. Don't let the little fan boys get you down with their thumbs down. This site is also filled with MS fan boys, both the OS and the Crapbox 360.

It doesnt matter how pretty the pixels are, it matters how fun the pixels are...

Blizzard has enough of a zombie following now that they could just remake pong and the idiots would follow suit and probably pay a monthly fee for it.

still waiting for more gameplay video and maybe a demo to hold us over. with this length in development, i hope the game is incredibly long and immersive

Blizzard has a lot to make up for with the amount of time we've been waiting for this game. This game needs to be a million times more of a game than D2 ever was with the amount of time we all have been waiting. Hopefully, they'll stick to their roots and will make this game pay free after buying the game initially, cause hell if I'm going to pay any amount of money on a monthly basis after waiting this damn long.

[citation][nom]Socnom[/nom]They better include DX11. or by then it'll be DX11.1 Who knows. I want some DX11 Diablo III videos![/citation]

11 Thumbs up for a comment as retarded as that? Come on....Are you people fucking blind, DX11?! Visually, the game looks no more adavanced than DX8. No shaders, no bump maps, 256x256 textures at best, and so on...No wonder coming people saying Dragon Age is a great rpg, let me laugh...

it looks tight.. never played diablo series..but my friend was addicted..but man it must release when i'll be out from playing games

Same.
DX11 support (with DX11.1 added later on via patches).
Also 8 threaded support (or even 12, because of the six core gulftowns, and 16 threads for the eventual octocores coming).
PhysX (or any other physics rendering, I'll take anything, especially if I can run it on ATI, or maybe just a 5870+9800GTX if it will let me use a hybrid setup). Physics on a game like Diablo would be pimp.
Full resolution support. 640x480 in D3 (800x600 in the expansion) max resolution was horrible. I understand they don't to give richer players an unfair advantage 9well, blizzard has changed, so maybe not anymore), but I'm about to have three 2048x1152 monitors, and I want to use them all! (even if one is for inventory/quests, the other is for map/chat, and the main monitor is for actual gameplay).

Come on Blizzard, by the time you release it, I want it to have every single bell and whistle you can think of, and then some.

I've been waiting for this game for a very long time now. If they charge $100, +$100 for an expansion, I will pay.

Is it just me or do the images look rather lacking in detail? I mean the landscape looks decent but the characters and enemies look bad. Maybe these are what it would look like on low detail (wishful thinking?)

I think at this stage the Blizzard actually complied and made the game look less like WoW. Problem is, it now looks exactly like the old games....

... But then probably this would look real impressive on a high resolution and in motion as well.

It's not the first time I hear this, and probably not the last time, but who are you to say all these games are delayed because of WoW? It didn't occur to any of you that a publisher can have different studios developping different games? Is it not possible that a particular game is delayed for a reason NOT involving another game?

Yes, I'm a WoW addict, so my opinion is a little biased. But WoW haters have their opinion biased too, because The fact is we really don't know why they make us wait this long for SC2 and D3.
