Imagine looking at these screenshots without knowing they're "Diablo III". Am I the only one who thinks the Diablo II looked more stylish and impressive?

Well if it's out in 2011 it will be dx9 release. If it's year 2012 release it will be dx9 based, if it will be year 2014 it may be possible that it will be dx11 release (with dx9 support...)
DB3 is a console port after all? or is it?
But the pictures does look nice for top wiew shooter, the only area where dx11 would make it better would be clothes animation and maybe other material related things. But those pictures are more like cartoonish style, with unrealistic colours, so it's easy to make it with dx9 codepath.

Would really be nice if Toms could figure out how to add an image viewer/gallery so it's easier to click through....

...and ironically the most successful in the Industry.

Figured I would finish.

Also, kido's? Where were you when Blizzard announced their older games e.g: Diablo 2, Warcraft III, etc?

Maybe under a rock considering the comments lamenting the time it's taking to create D3. It's obvious your either one of two things, maybe both. A) Ignorant or B) Impatient

And for those boycotting for whatever idle reason, there will most likely be 10 more to replace you, say it ain't so!?

As far as graphics are concerned, without a doubt underwhelming, both in style (colors scheme's) and technology (Games been in development for about 4 years, sorry kids, not seeing DX11 here, unless integrated later in a 'graphics patch') and I will agree with the person who mentioned Diablo 2's style was better.

Will I buy it? Yea, assuming Blizzard is still capable of improving their line to go bigger and better will determine if I actually like it.

long wait long wait mate....~
is been a decade, why they take so long to release the freaking game~!

let's boyccott WOW and they will make things faster ~ LOL

[citation][nom]Hatecrime69[/nom]at least with blizzard's ungodly long release schedule, they actually end up releasing the product though of course non-wow fans have a reason to be mad, with starcraft2/d3 delays being because of their mmo[/citation]

I suppose Star Craft Ghost didn't count?

Stop reminding me of this game being in progress... with blizzard it's best not to even think about it till TADA.... Great game goes out.

This game has better blow everything away (Same goes for Starcraft2) just in the same way Starcraft was an amazing game...

Accomplishment of starcraft:
-Strategie
-Sending masses
-3 teams perfectly balanced
-runs on a Pentium 90mhz windows95, 24mb ram + 33.6k modem with great graphics and no slowdowns
-Multiplayer
-Custom games ...

I love blizzard... at least when they release something, it's perfect and on top they even improve on it for years to come. (Unlike Many other companies... cough cough EA)

Well, I will say the lack of pointless rainbows in the scene is a bit of an improvement... As well as noting that character shoulders/shoulder pads have been shrunk below the World of WarCraft-class sizes they had before... So maybe people might have been too hard on Blizzard, just like with SC2; after all, their early shots for the original StarCraft looked, well, just like WarCraft. (and then Blizzard promptly threw all that art out a window to give us the dark'n'gritty look that we loved)

Of course, I'd still like to see them put a bit more effort, especially if they can work in some shaders to try and re-create the sort of darkness that we saw in Diablo and Diablo II; they won't come naturally, since then those atmospheres were partly a result of the limited 256-color palette. What they probably need is a new HDR shader. (none of that OpenEXR crap I've had to put up with for what, 4-5 years now?) 'course, that may be hoping a bit much, given how Blizzard consistently sits maybe 6-8 years behind the technology curve.

Whu-fuh? Has there been an update I missed, because it still looks too bright and happy and Warcraft-ish to me, last I looked. Being last week.

have you guys tried this game http://www.torchlightgame.com/
It was build from the two brothers who created Diablo and left Blizzard and they had the chance to finish a game before. Very fun to play.
