So i've been having this huge problem w/ my disk lately always at 100% even though the processes are just on 0.1 mb/s. It's really frustrating me because i already did most of the solutions (disable superfetch) hopefully you guys can respond and help me quickly!

Solution
I actually had this problem and I found the process called compattelrunner.exe was causing it. Try following this guide and let me know if it works for you.

system still spikes up a bit but not as much as before i can barely move my cursor before but now it's like how my laptop runs before this thing happened, and i also checked my chkntfs C: and it said my drive was dirty so might be a good reason to run a chkdsk /r right? Thanks for the input everyone!

That stupid thing has been driving me nuts. Despite adding registry entries and deleting the services, mine keeps coming back. Were you able to fully get rid of it?

I had the same problem with an HP laptop and I was able to fix the problem by doing the following.

I only had 4gb of ram so I bought an 8gb stick. I switched the ram from one slot to another.

I cleaned installed windows and did not install avast.

I haven't experienced 100% disk usage since then. I think it may have to do with the ram. Removing it and reseating it or switching slots may be what fixed it.

It doesn't sound like much of a solution but it worked for me. Hope it helps
