Hello everyone i hope all of you are doing well

I have a weird problem in my MSI Leopard GP66 gaming laptop
The problem is suddenly my laptop starts to act weird. I run a game and i get like very low fps and when i check GPU usage it says 97-100%

I tried different methods to try and solve it:
  • New windows \ new iso from a usp
  • Update bios
  • uninstalling gpu driver rolling back the driver update it
  • cleaned the fans the internal and change the thermal paste (i used cooler master one).

i tried every thing and i didnt know what to do actually. My temps are not high, its all around 30-80C maximum.

Still don't know what the problem is or how to fix it.
If you can help me and solve my problem i will be thankful'

Laptop specs:
RTX 3080 8GB
INTEL CORE I7-11800H
32gb ram

Best regards.
Mustafa :)

Hey there,

Since you got the laptop, have you cleaned it out ever? As with all gaming laptops, heat is every owners nightmare.

You should start by giving the laptop a good clean internally with compressed air. Get all the gunk out of it. The dirt over time will clog the fans and they won't clear the heat very well.

Install HWInfo to monitor your system, and run a few benches. CInebench R23 is good for this. Use HWInfo to see what temps your CPU is hitting on the fly.

Try changing power plans, and see if that helps. If you have changed any power plans, then it might be a good idea to return them to default. You can do this by typing the following codes into powershell:

Ultimate Performance: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
High Performance: powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c
Balanced: powercfg -duplicatescheme 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e
Power saver: powercfg -duplicatescheme a1841308-3541-4fab-bc81-f71556f20b4a

See if these help.

My bad, I didn't see that.

When you changed the paste, how did you apply it. The best option for Intel chips is a pea sized dot in the middle. Then replacing the cooling pipes back on in a criss cross fashion. So from each diagonal to the other.

Is bios up to date?
Yup its up to date and about the paste before and after applying it the same problem it didn’t fixed
