If you clicked on all those links, thanks for your time! It's much appreciated. I need to know if these parts are good quality, and are they compatible? Also, am i missing anything? (Ex: another computer part, cables, ect.) And also, if you can find me a better deal or something, or something that would fit me better, please let me know!

And another thing. If i preorder Windows 7 today, i will pay $50, obviously. Is what i'm paying for the same thing as the system builders edition? Or do i have to order Windows vista home premium for $100 off of newegg and receive the coupon? And a thing about the coupon, do you send it in and they send you a system builders CD copy for windows 7, like what you would buy from bestbuy or something?

You can omit the AC Freezer 7 Pro & thermal paste if you don't plan to overclock; the cooler included with the CPU is sufficient in that situation.

I hear reports that the stock cooler could be better, but either way you don't need the AS5. The Arctic freezer comes with paste pre-applied.

Your list is decent. Do you understand about the Caviar Green? Slower, cooler, more energy efficient, and quieter? if that's not why you bought it, look at the Caviar Black.

That cooler isnt compatible with am2/am3 cpu's anyways, that is out.

I wouldn't recommend a gtx 260 core 216 at such a low resolution, nor at such a high price. At that resolution, a 4850 would suffice... a bit faster than that is the 4870 512mb (no need for 1gb at that resolution) going for as low as $126 on newegg. If at some point you intend to upgrade your monitor, then you can consider something a bit stronger.

Such a high end cpu paired with such a low budget board. If you want 4 cores, you could settle for an x4 940 instead, and use that difference to get a slightly better board.

look at this board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128387

That with a 940 is perfect, you will have to change to ddr2 memory if you go that route. If you want, you could also consider the ddr3 790x from gigabyte with your initial x4 955... thats more money though.

So, with that said, i would go with the ddr2 790x and the 940, a decent 4gb ddr2 kit (my preference is g skill or ocz) and either a single 4850 or 4870... and if you ever upgrade your monitor, you could simply go crossfire.

okay cool i can save another $50 if the stock cooler is good enough. But do i need the thermal paste for the stock cooler? Or does that have paste already also?

How much faster is black? Is it noticeably faster?

i'm changing to a 750w corsair psu.

And another question, if i don't overclock, do you think the stock cooler that comes with the amd phenom 2 is good enough?

Most likely yeah, but you're on a 1000 dollar budget, spending like 30 bucks on a good CPU fan won't hurt in case the stock one blows, right?

P.S. 750 is strictly overkill. You can use a solid 600W PSU and run all of those things :]

alright cool.
I decided to get the 550w corsair? Corsair psu's seem to be really good quality. You think 550w will be plenty? And i think i might get a velociraptor w/ my other hard drive :p
