Oblivion really isn't that great for comparison. It's an ATI-heavy-handed game, nVidia's 84.13 (I think that's the number) drivers aren't out, so AA+HDR+Shaders aren't all supported together very well. I'm running the beta drivers and they'll work like a charm, as expected, with better support for the 90nm cards that were just released.
I would consider BF2, COD2, some MMO like WoW.. etc to be good comparisons alongside Oblivion, but you can't just take Oblivion by itself. Perhaps this 33-year-old doesn't want to play a game with elves (that look like crap), swords, and castles. Just a thought, though.
