so as of now i cannot afford a new monitor. im running an old 1280x1024 screen. the 7850 i have in this rig right now is a 1 gb version. Seeing as how rx 470s are unavailable or rediculosly expensive, {iv seen some at over 600 bucks} due to the data mining scourge is it worth grabbing the 4gb evga 1050 ti, the rest of my specs are in my sig. my older i5 is oced pretty heavily so i doubt i wwould have any bottlekneck. thanks!

also i basicly just play total war games and warband, bannerlord, etc, not into shooters or AAA titles.

The best thing you can do for yourself is buy the best, most expensive GPU that you CAN AFFORD right now. Because this way, that GPU will last you in the long run, and could possibly save you money since you won't be thinking of upgrading too often. For example, my first build back in 2016, I bought a GTX 970 from MSI. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great card, but I ended up upgrading to a 1070 only one year later, because the 970 wasn't strong enough for me to game at a constant 60fps on a 1440p monitor that I had at the time (and games are only getting more demanding). So again, buy the best GPU that you CAN AFFORD right now, and that will last you longer than a weaker card that you buy just because it's a bit cheaper.
