[SOLVED] 1060+1070 build

I built this pc originally with asus z270a motherboard and a gtx 1060. I then upgraded to a gtx 1070 but left the 1060 in the original slot with the hdmi from it to my tv. If I play a game on this rig will it only utilize the 1060 since it's in the main slot and is sending video to the tv or will it know to use the 1070?

Do I need to switch slots or just plug hdmi into the 1070?
