Hello everyone i have a huge dilemma...Im between the 1060 3gb and the rx 580 4gb. My monitor has Freesync. The models i want are:

Gigabyte gtx 1060 3gb g1 gaming
Gigabyte aorus rx 580 4gb

The problem is that the specific 1060 has higher speeds than the rx 580 but the rx 580 has 1 gb extra vram. What should i go for? Also the rx 580 is 10 euros more expensive. Thanks everyone!

A 1060 will trade blows with a 580, and the "winner" will depend on the title & API used.

BUT, that's a 6GB 1060 vs either 8GB or 4GB 580's.

The 4GB 580 cuts back the VRAM (and I believe...
Both cards are comparable in performance.
The RX580 is older tech hotter, and more power hungry and will usually need 150w more power, typically a 550w psu.
GTX1060 will run on a 450w psu.

Nvidia and amd use vram differently. you can not use such specs for a buying decision.
The vram you get will be appropriate to the particular card.

Freesync applies to amd, it allows the graphics card and monitor to match available fps rates.

The GTX10xxx cards have a similar speed matching capability which is implemented via buffering.
It reduces input lag and screen tearing.

Not really a big difference, I think.

Unless your psu is a problem, pick based on if you like amd or nvidia drivers better.

I agree with geofelt but wanted to add one more thing to consider:

As of today, both cards are very close in performance.

As these card get older and have a harder time holding higher FPS, that's where the benefit of Freesync will come in. The games will still be tear free and look smooth while gaming. Owning the AMD will show it's advantage later on in its life as opposed to now (since you already own the freesync monitor).

The 4GB 580 cuts back the VRAM (and I believe lowers clocks, at stock anyway), the 3GB 1060 cuts the "1060" in more ways that just VRAM.

Cuda cores, SM's, TPCs, TMUs - in addition to the reduced VRAM.

IMO, there shouldn't be much debate. 4GB 580 > 3GB 1060 - and that's before you factor in FreeSync.
