1080p ultra settings or medium settings on 1440p?

which would look better 1080p ultra maxed out settings or 1440p medium-high settings? This is to decide whether im going to stick with my 1080p monitor or get a 1440p one.

1080p ultra maxed settings is definitely going to look better. The higher the quality, the better it looks. Only get the 1440p monitor if you can get very high - ultra or even maxed out.

Depends on the monitor size. 24" monitor I'd say 1080p is better, but 27" @ 1440p would be better

Honestly, if there isn't a need to spend money on a new monitor, the don't. As long as your content with how your monitor is now (as in no scratches or dead pixels) then you don't need a new monitor. Also, MeesterYellow is correct as well about 1080p maxed out settings being a better perspective in gaming, it just, looks better. XD Hope this helps!
