Hi there!
I'm about to build my first pc (parts are still arriving). I decided to go big so it would be future proof and only would need to do small upgrades. But my question is if i should over clock cpu/ram if ill be playing on a 1080p monitor with a 1070ti. I am aware its not ideal because gpu is capable of more (easy 2k) but my brother already has a monitor I can use. Not able to purchase 2k atm. So I know there will be bottle necking since gpu cant unleash its power onto a 2k screen. So in order to get best frames on 1080p for time being should i do a minimal over clock? THANKS !
build list
-MSI gaming pro b350m
-Ryzen 5 1600
-gtx 1070ti armor 8g
-Ballistic Sport Lt (2x4g)

Solution
I have a 1080 p monitor with the exact same cpu and gpu, what you can do is use adaptive resolution witch isn't true 2k but it makes the image look a lot sharper and the gpu renders in 2k so there wont be a bottleneck
I wouldn't do a CPU overclock on that board with a Ryzen 1600 or above the b350 are great budget over clockers for Ryzen 3 and the lower end Ryzen 5 but once you start overclocking the bigger CPUs sometimes it just cant supply enough power or the vrms aren't good enough on the b350s

I am getting concerned that the b350m will damage the 1070ti. What are your thoughts? Websites say 1070 is okay but i dont see anything on 1070ti anywhere. Thanks. Like it may not be able to handle the power but Idk.
