(If this isn't the right topic then move it to gaming if you want)

Here's the deal, I'm playing skyrim (with mods)

...and i've been trying to figure out why my game is so incredibly dark. So i've been troubleshooting mods etc.

Anyway it has nothing to do with mods, I found the reason. Resolution

With everything else held constant, just simply changing the resolution between 4k and 1440p I go from this.... View: https://imgur.com/WKGW4YA

How the hell is this possible? it must be 100x darker?

This is just from switching the resolution nothing else changed.

It's not just skyrim though, every game is considerably darker in 1440p.

Switch to gaming forumn if you want but I thought some people who know about monitors and resolutions could help.

Crazy. What about in the menu of Skyrim. Is it the same brightness there?

You know what now i'm extra confused, I went into my monitor's settings and disabled super hd color and then re enabled it and in 4k it got darker but in a good way. And now 1440p seems to work better. It's still a bit dark though but it's actually fixed I think now.

and also to answer I think the enb controls brightness I can't change it in settings, does nothing.
