[SOLVED] 1650 v2 a worthy upgrade from a 2670?

I currently own an e5 2670 and have been noticing a bottleneck with my 1070 ti due to its low frequency. I was looking at a 1650 v2 which has two less cores but a significantly higher base and boost clock. Would this be the best xeon for gaming on 2011? My budget is around 150.

At least here in the US you can find 1650V2 for well under 150, on ebay there are several for around 50 USD.

Personally I would just save up money and get a Ryzen mobo, ddr4 ram and a 3600. It woul dbe a far better long term investment.

Well I already own the motherboard and ram. The 2670 does like 75% of what I want so I thought the boost in IPC and frequency would close the gap more.

I mean yeah it would probably be a pretty good upgrade and if you can find one cheap I say go for it.

xeon 1650 v2 is about the same as ryzen 5 1600 and a few percent slower than ryzen 5 2600
so its not a bad cpu.
