So I have an ASUS Dual GTX 1660 Ti and R5 2600 with 16 GB ram (3200 MHz), and I tried running a heaven benchmark on stock settings, I only have 2 intake fans and 1 exhaust, and the GPU gets up to 78 degrees Celsius (peak). I know this is pretty high but I'm pretty sure it is still normal to have this temp at max load, also throttling starts at 80 degrees? Just saying, will the amount of fans I have be enough, and if so, could I possibly do an overclock (I tried, +120 Core Clock and +1000 Mem Clock) and got just above 80 peak I believe.

Remember that ambient temperatures do matter a lot with component temperatures, so what is your ambient temperature?

78 degrees is high-ish, but the card's max temp is 95 degrees so you still have headroom. It's not unheard of for some 1660ti to reach 80+ degrees on benchmarks depending on the environment.

In regards to the amount of fans, I like to follow the rule of thumb of equal intake to exhaust, but in reality only you can judge that, if you OC and temperatures start climbing too high, then consider adding better cooling, if the temperatures don't rise enough for it to be a concern, then don't worry.

Besides, your GPU is rarely going to hit the same temperatures as it does on an intense benchmark application, so in reality you'll likely have even more temperature headroom than this.

Just remember if you do overclock that you have the appropriate PSU to make this safe and viable.

Asus dual edition does not have the best cooling solution. The temps you see under max load are within the normal range.

It would be best if you add more airflow to your case.

UPDATE: I increased the fan speed via MSI Afterburner and on max load on OC settings (Clocks mentioned on post) I seem to get 72-73.
