Question 16GB RAM is installed but Windows Task Manager shows only 8GB ?

I have 2 x 8GB RAM installed in my computer. BIOS and CPUZ shows the 16GB RAM allocated, but only 8GB is showing up as available in Windows task manager ?

Did you swap the memory slots to see what happen?

Does Windows show 8GB as reserved?

If so then there's likely something wrong with one or more of the following CPU pins, motherboard, CPU mounting tension, DRAM installation.

It would be helpful to know at least what CPU, motherboard and DRAM you have specifically though more information the better.

Yes, I did, and even tested one at a time! Both work fine, I don't know whats happening.

Windows shows 7,98 as usable, but detects 16gb.

AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor 3.30 GHz
Mainboard N68-GS4 FX R2.0

8GB DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz 2x​

This is a common problem with components of this age.

With both memory sticks installed, update (or re-apply if already installed) to the most recent BIOS version available for the motherboard.
