[SOLVED] 16GBx2 + 8GBx2 vs 16x3?

If you are lucky the 2x8gb is better as you can put 8gb in each channel and your whole 48gb would be in dual channel. With the 3x16gb there will be at least 16gb running in single channel.

However mixing RAM like this is not guaranteed to work, there is a reasonable chance of stability problems with either choice.
