192.168.1.1 wont open after factory reset

Hello today morning my internet stopped working says there no internet acess,turned it off/on and tried to open the the router page but nothing,did a factory reset and still cant open the router page

Are you sure you got the right default IP? It should be on a sticker on the back. Sometimes it is 192.168.0.1.

Depending on the brand it might be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1.

What does the network center say ? , can it get the address of the router or limited connection ?

First things first.

Connect your computer to the router with a cable.

Open a CMD prompt and type IPCONFIG then hit enter

It will give you your IP address and the IP address of the router as the gateway. Be sure your computer is set to receive DHCP addresses and that you dont have an assigned one. If you are using DHCP and have a 192.168.x.x address then you should be fine with accessing the router.

Open a web browser and type in the http://<gateway address from above> and then hit enter. That address should start with the same 3 octets as your IP address so it should be 192.168.Y.X. Y should be the same as yours from above and X can be either 1 or 254.

If you are getting a 169.x.x.x address then you are either not connected, not getting DHCP and need to figure out why. Could be a bad cable, bad port, bad router or a miss configured client.

Hello,I did that and my default gateway is 192.168.1.1
i am pretty sure this is the right ip as i have been using it for the past 2 years in this router

OK. I asked, because most routers default to wireless administration = OFF.

I missed this before. Generally, that would be the WAN port, to connect to the modem. Try one of the other ports.

So IP config told you the GW is 192.168.1.1 and your IP is 192.168.1.x, correct?

Can you ping 192.168.1.1? Can you get to it by going to https://192.168.1.1?

Try disconnecting it from EVERYTHIING. Power on the router, then reboot the PC.
