I have been using a MSI mother board (K8MM-ILSR) with AMD 64 processor for the last five years. Of late the computer shuts down all of a sudden after working normally for about half an hour. If I switch on immediately, the memory does not count. I tried replacing the DDR card, but the problem continued. I started monitoring the voltage at pin 1 of the memory card and I found it increasing slowly from 1.0 V to 1.3-1.4 when the computer shuts down. I am now maintaining the voltage at 1.1 V by connecting two 1N4001 diodes in series with a limiting resistor of 22 Ohms between pin 1 and ground. It takes about three hours now to reach the tripping voltage. I know that this is not the right solution. Can any one help me to rectify this problem?
