2 firewalls?

i got 2011 kaspersky net suite so i got the anti virus and firewall running...i had on my pc with out knowing it the free microsoft antivirus and they were both running at the same time with out any issues. a pc nerd buddy of mine said it was odd that i had no issues with it, normaly they interfere with eachother or something like that. i got rid of the microsoft antivirus and turned off the windows firewall and just had my kaspersky firewall on...my question is can you have both firewalls on at the same time or can this lead to funky things going on with a pc aswell?

Ive never used 2 firewalls at once but its probably not a good thing to do so. Kasperskys firewall is awesome and thats all you need.

Two firewalls and/or two antivirus product will lead to degraded performance, sometimes drastically so. Find one of each that you like and stick with it.

They might conflict with one another, and what Ijack said it can degrade the performance. Just keep to one AV and one firewall.
