2 pcs 1 modem trouble

Hey folks. I have 2 desktops connected to the same modem - 1 of the pcs is connected via an ethernet cable, and the other pc is connected via a powerline adapter. The pc with the powerline runs magnificently, but recently the pc directly connected to the modem seems to be struggling to maintain any internet connection if the powerlined pc is also up and running. Is this simply the way it is, or should it be possible to get a full connection on both pcs? There are definitely periods of time where both pcs can run a stable connection, but the hardwired pc inevitably gives up eventually. Help please!

have you tried hard reset on the router/cable modem to see if it one of them and not the pc. on the hard wired pc tried the newest network drivers to rule out a driver bug???

Sorry for the late reply. I completely uninstalled the modem, redownloaded and reinstalled the drivers and the problem has popped up again. It was good for a few days then pooped itself again
